Important information

The 8-Peak March is a challenging event that requires good physical fitness. Therefore, only those who are well-trained, feel strong, and are not prone to dizziness during long hikes should attempt this march.

It is highly recommended to wear sturdy footwear. While the route is well-marked, most of it is without proper trails or walkways. Additionally, at altitudes close to 3,000 meters, weather conditions can change rapidly. Participants are advised to bring suitable clothing for protection against bad weather.

Given the length and difficulty of the march (up to 14 hours), it is essential for each participant to carry enough provisions, especially liquids (the route is entirely devoid of water points) and energy-rich foods such as bars, grape sugar, chocolate, etc.

Participants are explicitly discouraged from treating the march as a competition. The organization places no value on speed performances, especially as running on certain sections of the route could be dangerous.

The minimum age for participation is 16 years. The organization reserves the right to exclude participants showing signs of difficulty. Minors under 16 may participate only if accompanied by an adult, under their responsibility.

The march crosses the Italian-Swiss border. Participants are therefore advised to carry an identity document.

For hikers who, for any reason, need to abandon the march before completing it, it is possible to descend to Furkelhütte and Trafoi via the Fallatschscharte (2,742 m).

The organizers do not assume any responsibility for accidents during the march.

The march will take place in any weather conditions.

In case of bad weather, alternative routes will be used.

Participants of the 8-Peak March can attend a mass at 3:30 AM in the Church of the Madonna in Glorenza.

Please respect nature and do not leave any litter behind.

Starting from 11:00 AM, the 8-Peak March Festival will take place in the Glurns Festival area.

The 24th 8-Peak March will likely take place in July/August 2027.

The 8-Peak March is organized alternately with “The Roman Path” (a march from the Oberettes Hut to the Sesvenna Hut) and the “Two-Country March” (Tubre/Switzerland).

Prepare well, and the march will become an unforgettable experience.
